Pop Up Market Trader Spotlight – Part 2

We’re counting down the days until our pop up market comes to life!  With free admission and a market full of local artists, writers, makers and creatives PLUS a friendly, informal cafe and bar offering refreshments and a space for chatting and socialising, we think there’ll be something for everyone!

  1. Classical art fans, why not stop in for a chat about landscape painter “John Constable” with author James Armstrong, who has published a book about the artist. James has also published an illustrated collection of poems. James is a member of Teignmouth Writers.
  1. Check out the fabulous work of Meg Woolner, a local lino print artist who describes her work as “predominantly focussed on lino prints of local harbours, boats and interesting buildings. I’m drawn to texture and stark contrast”.
  1. We’re excited to welcome Clare Pennell, local watercolour painter who’ll be bringing a selection of her own original paintings to the pop up market.  We can’t wait to see more of her beautiful observations of life in watercolour.
  1. Come meet best-selling YA author Madeline Dyer. She will be providing signed copies of her novels for children and adults, ranging from dystopian fantasy to horror to murder mysteries set on Dartmoor. She is also a member of Teignmouth Writers
  1. We’re very grateful to the Kenton Craft Group who’ll be selling plants, herbs, cakes and other home-made treats to take away, with all their proceeds going directly to the Kenton Pub and Community Group and their mission to re-open The Dolphin Inn.

What a line up!  Come along and show your support for this volunteer-led community project.  The market and refreshments will be open from 1-5pm, with the bar staying open until 9pm.  Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday…
