SOCIETY RULES

The Dolphin is a Community Benefit Society (CBS) — a not-for-profit, democratic organisation that exists to serve the long-term interests of our community. As a CBS, we are registered with and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and operate under a formal set of Rules.

These Rules are based on a model provided by the Plunkett Foundation, who support rural community ownership projects like ours. They set out how we operate: from how decisions are made and who can become a member, to how we manage finances and protect community assets for the future.

Having clear, FCA-registered Rules is vital — it ensures transparency, accountability, and that The Dolphin will always be run for the benefit of the community, not private profit.

You can read the full Society Rules in the attached PDF.
